Terms of Service — Box Mate

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Box Mate ("the Service"), operated by CodeView, Lda ("we", "us", or "our"), a company registered in Portugal, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Box Mate is a multi-tenant SaaS platform for fitness box management. The Service includes class scheduling and booking, workout tracking and community features, member management, billing and payment processing, and push notifications. The Service is provided via web application and mobile application (iOS and Android).

3. User Accounts

Accounts may be created by the user directly or by a box owner/coach on the user's behalf (managed accounts). When an account is created on your behalf, you will be required to change your password on first login. You are responsible for:

Maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials
All activities that occur under your account
Providing accurate and up-to-date information
Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access

4. User Roles and Responsibilities

The Service supports multiple user roles, each with different permissions:

Athletes — may book classes, log workout scores, and manage their profile
Coaches — may manage classes, post WODs, and view member attendance
Owners — have full administrative access to their box, including member management, billing, and analytics

Box owners are responsible for the data of their members and must ensure they have appropriate consent to create accounts on behalf of their athletes and coaches.

5. Payments and Billing

Payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc. and MB WAY (via our payment integration). By making a payment, you also agree to the applicable payment processor's terms of service. Membership fees are determined by individual box owners. Refund policies are set by individual box owners. We are not a party to the financial relationship between box owners and their members.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems
Interfere with or disrupt the Service's infrastructure
Upload malicious content or code
Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Service
Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its original content, features, and functionality, is owned by CodeView, Lda and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of any content you submit (workout scores, profile data, etc.), but grant us a license to use it as necessary to provide the Service.

8. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time with reasonable notice. We will not be liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Portuguese and EU law, CodeView, Lda shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us, in accordance with your rights under the GDPR.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Portugal and applicable European Union regulations. Any disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of Portugal.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
